John Brannigan Weavers
We love John Branigan. He is everything you would think of regarding an Irish Artisan who has the highest standards for creating his product and who has been doing it his entire adult life. John and his family has been weaving wool fabric in the town of Drogheda Co Louth, Ireland for over 50 years. Now in its fourth generation, Brannigan Weavers take what they do very seriously. We have been selling Brannigan Woolens in our shop for as long as we have been open. 40 years.
John once had a hugh row with an very famous American Corperation who came into his booth at a trade show. They wanted him to make cheaper versions of his capes so that they could be sold on TV. John refused in his very Irish style and that is why you will never see knock off versions of his capes.
Today John along with his son also John run one of the only Irish based weaving mills still open in Ireland. Their clothing are a testiment to the tradional of Irish fine woolens.
