Our Legacy

In 1985, Tom and Barbara Washburn (left, with Steve) opened the first Oxford Hall shop called Oxford Hall Irish Too in their family’s beautiful Victorian home in New Oxford, Pennsylvania. The Washburns offered a wonderful selection of Irish woolens, jewelry and fine gifts, along with an antiques shop. This shop closed in 2006.

In 1991, the Washburn family opened a second Oxford Hall shop on Bridge Street in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. Ownership passed to Steve and Cindy Washburn, second generation proprietors. Now in its second New Cumberland location, the shop features imports from the United Kingdom and Ireland, Celtic jewelry, religious gifts, and The Tea Corner Café, where guests can relax, chat, and enjoy a lovely cuppa and treat. Seth Washburn, manager of the café, is the third generation of Washburns to introduce guests to the Oxford Hall experience.
