 Our Community

We love being located in Historic Old Towne New Cumberland. We also know that without the support of the community, we cannot continue to grow and thrive.  We also believe we have an obligation to give back. Finding vendors who choose both fair trade and sustainable business policies are part of how we choose to do business. We also devote recources and time to several organizations who we believe contribute greatly to Central PA.

We also support the local Catholic and Public Schools, Community Groups, Celtic and Irish Groups and the New Cumberland Community.

Our History

Oxford Hall Irish Too was opened by Tom and Barbara Washburn in 1985. The first Oxford Hall was located in the Washburn’s beautiful family Victorian home in New Oxford, PA. The shop sold a wonderful selection of Irish woolens, jewelry and fine gifts. This shop also inlcuded and antiques shop located behind the main store.  Tom and Barbara closed the original Oxford Hall in 2006.

In 1991, the Washburn family opened a second Oxford Hall on Bridge Street in New Cumberland, PA. This business is now owned by Steve and Cindy Washburn, the second generation of the Washburn family. The New Cumberland Oxford Hall store is over 2,300 square feet and has an expanded selection of imports. The shop includes a full line of quality goods from Ireland and the British Isles. We also stock first communion, confirmation and baptism gifts,  Holy Cards, Saints Medals and other religious items.

In 2008 Oxford Hall expanded their business by becoming the supplier for the Gift Shop at the Cathedral at St Patrick’s parish in Harrisburg,  We are thrilled to have this honor to help the parish by supplying the merchandise for their shop.  A portion of the proceeds of the sales goes directly to the parish.

Now in its third and largest location at 315 Bridge Street, the shop features Irish Woolens, Scottish Clan Jewelry and Tartans, Welsh China, Belleek Pottery, as well as Celtic Wedding Bands and Jewelry. There is even a Tea Shop and Import Food Market. Stop in for a pot of Tea, cup of coffee and an authentic Irish Scone.
